Music of Phil Collins and Genesis

  • From In the Air Tonight to Invisible Touch to Tarzan, Phil Collins is responsible for some of the most cherished musical moments from the 70s to the present day. His songs from the legendary band Genesis and his solo work are a consistent soundtrack to our lives and will be presented in a way they’ve never been heard before – reimagined for full orchestra with a phenomenal frontman and all-star band.

  • All your favorites are here— Do You Want to Build a Snowman?, Let It Go, For the First Time in Forever, and more—performed by the Erie Philharmonic as the movie is projected on screen above the orchestra!

Come Home for the Holidays

  • The holiday season is a time for joy, celebration, music—and our Come Home for the Holidays concert combines all three. Special guests, the Philharmonic Choruses and ballet dancers will fill the Warner Theatre with the sounds of the holidays!

Return of the Jedi in Concert

February 8, 7:30pm

  • In the climactic sixth episode of the Star Wars saga, Darth Vader readies the second Death Star to unleash the final blow to the Rebel Alliance. Luke Skywalker joins Princess Leia to free Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt and launch a desperate attack upon the entire Imperial Fleet. Watch the complete film unfold as we perform John Williams’ legendary score live to the film.

The Music of the Beatles

  • The Beatles come to life in Revolution, the new authorized symphonic tribute to the Fab Four, featuring top vocalists and musicians accompanied by new arrangements transcribed and arranged from the original master recordings at Abbey Road. Accompanied by hundreds of rare and unseen photos along with stunning video and animation, Revolution takes audiences on a magical musical and visual journey of The Beatles.

Tchaikovsky 5

October 12, 7:30pm

  • Experience the emotional depth of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and the profound Sibelius Violin Concerto, masterfully performed by violinist Stefan Jackiw. The evening also introduces Gabriela Ortiz's composition Kauyumari, a vibrant blend of contemporary rhythms and traditional melodies, showcasing the richness of Mexican music.

Boléro

  • Explore the grandeur of Liszt's Les Préludes, the jazz-infused Duke Ellington's The Three Black Kings, the premiere of Theofanidis’ Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, and the rhythmic allure of Ravel's Boléro. This concert offers a dynamic mix of styles, showcasing the expansive range of orchestral music in a compelling evening for all.

Rhapsody in Blue

January 25, 7:30pm

  • Embark on a musical odyssey with Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, a lush tapestry of sound that reimagines the past. Then be swept away by the iconic Rhapsody in Blue, featuring the outstanding pianist Janice Carissa. The evening culminates with Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, a powerful expression of triumph and resilience.

The Magic of the Guitar

March 15, 7:30pm

  • Delve into Bernstein's thrilling On the Waterfront Suite, a musical journey reflecting the film's powerful narrative. The evening sparkles with the renowned Miloš' guitar virtuosity, enchanting the audience. It culminates with Schumann's Symphony No. 1, a vibrant ode to spring's awakening. This concert blends cinematic intensity, exquisite guitar mastery, and symphonic beauty.

Verdi
Requiem

May 10, 7:30pm

  • Concluding our season, experience the emotional depth of Verdi's Requiem, an epic masterpiece familiar to everyone (trust us, look it up). The program also features Takemitsu's Funeral Music from Black Rain, an evocative piece that paints a landscape of introspection and solemn beauty. This season finale is not just a concert but a powerful tribute to the human spirit, promising an unforgettable evening of reflection and grandeur.
